One morning Caterina, a young sheperdess, doesn’t find her goat anymore. Believing it has flown away, the girl comes down to the plain followed by a witch who, in order to protect her, exposes herself to the painful sunlight. The town is a new and dangerous place and Caterina makes her short “journey to the hell” learning surprise, wickedness, fear and joy. And her story, word after word, becomes poetry for young and adult readers.

Roberto Piumini has written many novels, tales, poems and translations for adults and poems, tales, novels, plays and translations for children. He is one of the best Italian children’s writers and is very well known even abroad. For Interlinea he wrote Peppino’s journey and Ciro and the clouds.
 

Antonio Ferrara was born in Portici (Naples) in 1957 and obtained a diploma at the Istituto d’Arte Salazar in Naples. His works have been chosen more than once for the illustrators exhibition at the Children’s Book Fair in Bologna. He has exhibited all over Italy and has held a personal exhibition dedicated to Pinocchio. For Interlinea he has illustrated, among others, Andersen and Piumini.
