Who set the library on fire?
The library in Dogcats street, in Milan, is not like many others. One night a fire breaks out and the books, poor them!, haven’t got the time to open their eyes and they are completely surrounded by flames. Who is guilty? THE AUTHORESS

Anna Lavatelli was born in Novara in 1953. She obtained a degree in Philosophy and is now a teacher. She started to write children’s books in 1986, always with great success (for Piemme: Paola is not mad; for Interlinea: The mystery of the missing smile, Tales of the Magi and Frog nursery-rhymes. Frog tales with Emanuele Luzzati). She has been awarded many prizes, among which the Lazzarillo prize and the Andersen-Baia delle favole prize.
 

THE ILLUSTRATOR
Cecco Mariniello was born in Siena in 1950 and is one of the most famous illustrators in Italy (among others he has illustrated many books by Roberto Piumini). He has been awarded the Andersen prize and published with Piemme (Jacopo and the abominable wild beast), Fatatrac, Giunti and others. For Interlinea he wrote How Caterina saved Santa Claus, which was awarded the Christmas Tale prize in 2001, and illustrated Peppino’s journey and Ciro and the clouds by Roberto Piumini, and Little mad tales by Anna Vivarelli.
